The National Watercolor Society (NWS) brings before the public the best of watermedia painting, representing a wide range of directions and technique, from experimental to traditional. This year’s exhibit showcases 100 of the finest paintings, providing an exciting exhibit that showcases watercolor as a vital, enduring and expressive medium.
The goals of the National Watercolor Society are to encourage interest and excellence in watermedia paintings by providing quality exhibitions and to act as an educational channel. NWS sponsors programs to encourage and assist education in the arts through beneficial programs to artists and the public.
JUROR: Gerald D. Hannah received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Chouinard Institute and a Master of Fine Arts from California State University at Northridge. He has won many awards including the First Place honor at the Watercolor West Exhibition. Gerald is a nationally respected demonstrator and juror, and he commented that “This is a must-see show with an abundance of beautiful painterly watercolors. It was a very difficult job to select only a limited number of paintings from such a talented group. I am positive that the public will appreciate the creative endeavors of the artists in subject, color, technique and the pure joy of painting.”
