About the Juror

Roy Dowell is a New York-born, Los Angeles-based California artist best known for hybrid compositions that mix collage and painting, which over 25 years of his art draws frequently on billboard ads and textile design. For the past 20 years, he has been the Chair (and founder) of the graduate department at the Otis College of Art, and is currently represented by Margo Leavin Gallery. His work is included in the collections of many museums, including LACMA and MOCA.

About CAA

Collage Artists of America (CAA) was founded in 1988 by nine Los Angeles-area women proficient in a variety of media who sought to expand their creativity to encompass collage and assemblage. Membership has grown to over 150 members across the United States and Canada. Many members have been instructors at all levels of education and exhibit widely both nationally and internationally.

Meetings are held nine times a year and include programs presented by artists renowned for their work in collage and assemblage.
