LA Experimental Artists

About LAEA
Nearly 20 years ago, a number of artists in the Valley Watercolor Society started meeting regularly to paint together, experimenting with watermedia materials and techniques. Originally known as The Friday Painters, this spin-off group evolved into LA Experimental Artists (LAEA), a group of artists who meet monthly at VIVA to reinvent old and explore new techniques in collage, assemblage, watermedia, monotypes, and digital art, sharing friendship and ideas as they go.
Since their first ImproviZations group show in 2006, the initial group has inspired the formation of two additional experimental artist groups. In 2008, twenty-three artists representating all three LAEA groups will be exhibiting. A list of all 23 exhibiting artists is included in the sidebar to the right.
